About counselling What is Counselling?
Counselling is known by many as the 'talking cure'. Through talking about a client's issues, helping them to express their feelings and understand what is happening, clients can experience dramatic shifts in their perceptions and find new ways of being that are healthy and constructive. Confidentiality is essential for clients to feel safe enough to share their story. I will talk about the limits of confidentiality I can offer in our first session.Can counselling help me?
Counselling can help with many issues you might be facing. After an initial phone call where we can arrange to meet, we will have an assessment interview. This session is free. Its a chance for both of us to get to know one another better and for us to evaluate whether we feel we can work together. By the end of this interview we will decide whether you are going to start a course of counselling with me. If you are, we will arrange the next session.
